Schedule (Spain)






The seminar- Spain

Students and teachers – please bring along your laptops and cell phones in order to use the wifi at the school.
Day 1 – Sunday 22nd  January 2017
Arrival of students and teachers at their destination. Arrival times are varied …The German group will be very late(no need for a meal for them, probably)… The French maybe the first to arrive at around 19:00. The Danish do not yet have an arrival time…The evening meal will be provided, then a tour of the facilities
Day 2 – Monday 23rd  January 2017
08:00 – 08:45 Breakfast
08:45 – 09:15 Try out the video conference with an Introduction from the host (David Helliwell)(if it works? If not someone in Spain will have to go through the program)
09:15 – 10:00 Warm up activities followed by Videos of stereotypes played at each conference…
10:00 – 10:30 A review of what each nation thinks about how true/false these stereotypes are, have they changed over time? Should or can they be changed? Where do they come from? (Media, films, experiences). As a large group
10:30 – 11:00 Group discussion on the subject, each group gives a short summary on their ideas. This will be shared with the others.
11:00 – 11:30 Play children’s games from Denmark.
11:30 – 12:30 Lunch
12:30 – 14:00 a discussion on traditions
group A - Christmas and New year.
Group B - another Religious festival.
Group C -  marriage.
students make a visual summary using posters and/or PowerPoint
14:00 – 15:00 each of the groups to present their ideas to the others and make comparisons.
15:00 – 17:00 A film about traditions from one of the 5 countries with English subtitles. Played at both venues
17:30 – 19:00 Evening meal
19:00 + free time
Day 3 – Tuesday 24th   January 2017
08:00 – 08:45 Breakfast
08:45 – 09:15 Watch video diaries from other conference and discuss
09:15 – 10:00  Each group presents their history PowerPoint to the other groups. Then an Expert gives a lecture on positive vs negative nationalism
10:00 – 11:00 Group discussion on the subject, each group prepares a poster of their ideas. These will be shared with the others.
11:00 – 11:30 Play children’s games from France.
11:30 – 12:30 Snack
Bus to the IES Poeta Gacrcía Gutiérrez.
Visit the school.  
Activity with the Spanish students.
14.30 – 16:00 Lunch at the students home.
17.00 - Preparation of an international meal at the Spanish students home.
18.30 – 19.30 Visit Chiclana
20.30 – International dinner. (students home)
21.30 – Return to the school
Day 4 – Wednesday 25th January 2017
08:00 – 09:00 Breakfast
09:00 – 10:00 Each student in each group presents their mind maps to the others. Try and make a possible EU/ democratic/common mind map for each group. Group discussion on the subject, each group gives a short summary on their ideas. Is there a change over generations ?
10:00 – 10:30 Share videos of previous days work from other conference
10:30 – 12:30 Coach to Cadiz. Cultural visit to Cádiz: the cathedral, the museum, etc…
13:00 Packed Lunch
14:00 – 15:00 Cultural visit
15:00 – 19:00 free afternoon
20.00- Bus to Chiclana
20.30 Evening meal


Day 5 – Thursday 26th January 2017
08:00 – 09:00 Breakfast
09:00 – 10:00 each group presents religion survey results. Prepare posters on important aspects for age groups, religious groups and income. Prepare Questions for panel
10:00 – 10:30 Share videos of previous days work from other conference
10:30 – 11:00  Panel discussion including religious experts (If they can be found in either Spain and/or Denmark). If not there will be a couple of TED talks followed by a group discussion
11:00 – 11:30 Play children’s games from Germany
11:30 – 12:30 Lunch
13:30 – 15:00 2nd film about traditions from a third of the 5 countries with English subtitles
15:00 – 17:30  Dance classes
17:30 – 19:00 Evening meal
19:00 + free time


Day 6– Friday 27th January 2017
08:00 – 09:00 Breakfast
09:00 – 11:00 A film about traditions from a third of the 5 countries with English subtitles.
11:00 – 11:30 Food videos from Germany, Denmark and France and discussion (Healthiest, tastiest etc)
11:30 – 12:30 Lunch
12:30-13:30 Comparison, discussion of the films in groups.
13:30 – 16:00 conclusions in video diaries what have you learnt this week
16:00 – 17:00 video sharing and evaluation papers
17:30 – 19:00 Evening meal
19:00 +    free time and leaving party
Day 7– Saturday 28th January 2017
08:00 – 09:00 Breakfast
09:00 + bye bye
